Dogs, Boys and other things I’ve Cried About - Isabel Klee

If you want to read a memoir that feels like sitting down with a friend over coffee, this is the one. We get to follow Isabel Klee’s dog fostering stories, alongside her adventures dating in NYC. Loved it - I laughed and cried.

The Mercy Step - Marcia Hutchinson

One of the Women’s Prize for Fiction Shortlisted titles for 2026, I really enjoyed this read. A beautifully told tragic story of a hard done by immigrant family finding home and solace through the chaos. Though dark in content it was surprisingly endearing at times.

Half His Age - Jennette McCurdy

An honest and uncomfortable story of a young girl pining over and getting involved with her creative writing teacher. A narrative of her journey of desire to be seen, heard and loved. It also has notes of consumerism and grooming. Not a light read, but an interesting one for sure.

The Player’s Promise - Tierney Page

If World Cup Fever isn’t over for you yet, maybe you should pick this up for a spicy soccer player meets school teacher will-they-won’t-they romance. I was kicking my feet, blushing, and tearing up all at once. The third book in the London Hearts series and a really fun read.

Boyfriend Material - Alexis Hall

A funny, sweet MM fake dating romance between unfortunately in the spotlight, Luc and straighty - 180 Oliver. As it all too often does, the fake dating might lead to real romance, which requires them to ask what they’re willing to give to make it work. A little silly, and a lot cute.
