Review: The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A Parker

The Ballad of Falling Dragons is the second book in Sarah A. Parker’s Moonfall trilogy.

After the first book, When the Moon Hatched, took the fantasy community by storm, readers were eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this epic saga. And like any great fantasy novel, it comes complete with a detailed map, which I found myself constantly returning to as I tracked the characters across the realm.

The book picks up with Raeve and Kaan as they navigate the next leg of their journey. Compared to its predecessor, this book hits the ground running with a much faster pace. Every single chapter feels intentional and pushes the plot forward. We also get a far deeper look into the intricate bonds between the dragons and their riders, alongside a few surprising character returns that had me on the edge of my seat immediately.

By the time you reach the final chapters, Parker has brilliantly set the stage for an explosive finale. I, for one, am eagerly awaiting to see what fate Parker will dish out to Grimm and his newfound connection. Expectations are high for book three, there's a lot ot tie up here, but if you love sweeping fantasy worlds to get lost in, this is a series you absolutely need on your shelf.
