Critics Review

The field of digital imaging has grown immensely since then and this book brings us up to date. The modern museum can learn not only how, but why to create virtual exhibits, and to consider the implications of them. I am thrilled that this book focuses on the small- to mid-sized museums with limited budgets. As one of the authors notes, visitors still value the ‘real thing’ more than the digital object, but the virtual exhibit can provide a deeper look into not only an object, but an entire topic. – Beth Hansen * author of Great Exhibits!: An Exhibit Planning and Construction Handbook for Small Museums and adjunct faculty at the University of Oklahoma *
Striking a delicate balance between theory and practice, this valuable collection will assist museums and museum workers of all types as they endeavor to design and develop digital exhibits that meet their needs and the needs of their visitors. – From the Foreword by Paul Marty * PhD, co-author of The Invisible History of Museum Computing *
