Zian Shah Kabir
Zian Shah Kabir is a sessional lecturer and research analyst at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. He possesses 17 years of experience as an information systems specialist within the telecommunications industry. Dr. Kabir earned his PhD in Information Systems Engineering from UTS, a master’s degree from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and a bachelor’s degree from the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), alongside various postgraduate diplomas in Information Technology.
Previously, Dr. Kabir served as a Director at the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, where he was responsible for governing policy frameworks and formulating national standards for a resilient digital society. He has also contributed to the International Telecommunication Union as an international expert.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kabir has developed expertise in quality assurance, system design and implementation, UX research and design, qualitative and quantitative research methods, cognitive research, and large-scale information systems project implementation. He has also participated in numerous working groups focused on standardization and recommendations.
