What They're Saying

Critics Review

‘Gentle and poetic, subtle, watchful and observant, writing very much in the tradition of Robert Macfarlane and haunted by the ghosts of Barry Lopez and J.A. Baker. This is a startlingly brilliant and moving debut’ – William DalrympleIts intensity of vision’ and stylistic flair reminds me of J.A. Baker’s The Peregrine, and its democratic, inclusive account of ecology reminds me of Nan Shepherd’s The Living Mountain. Intertidal is a wondrous work of walking, seeing and thinking’ – Robert Macfarlane
