Val Wood
Val Wood is a highly popular author in the UK, a status she achieved after winning the Catherine Cookson Prize for Fiction for her debut novel, The Hungry Tide.
Born in the mining town of Castleford, Val moved to East Yorkshire as a child and has resided in Hull and the rural area of Holderness. Many of her novels are set in these locations, and she now lives in the market town of Beverley.
