About The Author

Tonni Agustiono Kurniawan

Dr. Tonni Agustiono Kurniawan holds a B.Sc. in chemistry from the Bogor Agricultural University (Indonesia), an M.Sc. in environmental technology from Thammasat University (Thailand), and a Ph.D. in applied chemical technology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (China).

He is the author of over 130 peer-reviewed publications in ISI-rated journals, 26 conference proceedings, 9 book chapters, and 6 monographs focusing on waste-to-energy and wastewater treatment.

Dr. Kurniawan has received several accolades, including the 2010 Green Talent Award from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the 2013 Young Scientist Award from the World Economy Forum (WEF), and the 2014 Scope-Zhongyu award. He has been recognized by Elsevier and Stanford University among the top 2% of highly cited scientists in Environmental Sciences.

Kit Wayne Chew is an Assistant Professor in the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham, where his research focused on sustainable bioprocess engineering for food and pharmaceutical products.

His current research centers on algae biotechnology and the development of cost-effective and environmentally friendly methods for synthesizing functional ingredients. His research interests encompass sustainable bioprocessing and the utilization of algae for value-added applications.
