Tom Denniss
Tom Denniss is an Australian athlete, scientist, and entrepreneur. He holds a PhD in Mathematics and Oceanography, has invented a technology to convert ocean wave energy into electricity, and founded a company to commercialize this technology. He also played professional rugby league and was a finalist for the 2014 Australian of the Year Award. In 2013, he set a new world record for the Fastest Circumnavigation of the Earth on Foot.
Tom has served on various committees and boards, including the Global Roundtable on Climate Change, the International Energy Association’s Ocean Energy Systems Executive Committee as the Australian Government’s representative, and the Australian Government’s Advisory Board for the Clean Energy Innovation Centre. He was the first person inducted into the Ocean Energy Hall of Fame, and in 2005, the technology he invented was recognized by the International Academy of Science as one of the Top Ten Technologies in the World.
A former professional musician who has performed in eight countries, Tom lives in Sydney, Australia. He has authored numerous articles for newspapers, magazines, and journals. This is his first book.
