Tessa Duder
Tessa Duder is one of New Zealand’s best-known writers, especially for young people. Her first book, Night Race to Kawau, had a nautical theme, while her award-winning Alex quartet of junior novels was made into a feature film. Her old cutter, Undine, was a familiar sight on the Waitemata Harbour between 1987 and 1994. Earlier in her life, Tessa Duder won a Commonwealth Games silver medal for swimming.
