Taylor Walker
Taylor ‘Tex’ Walker, a skinny teenager from Broken Hill, became Adelaide’s first AFL NSW Scholarship player in 2006. He was drafted to the Crows in 2007 and made his senior debut in 2009.
Walker had a breakout year in 2011, kicking 63 goals. He captained the Crows between 2015 and 2018, twice being voted the AFLPA Best Captain. He was Adelaide’s leading goalkicker seven times in his 19 seasons and became their greatest ever goalkicker in 2020 when he kicked his 441st goal, surpassing Tony Modra’s previous record. In 2023, at age 33, he was rewarded with his first All-Australian selection and won the coveted Showdown Medal.
Walker retired in 2026, third on the club’s games record list with 319 games and with a tally of 715 goals. He was the first player in Crows history to reach the rare 700-goal milestone.
He and his wife, Ellie, live in Adelaide and are proud parents of their three children: Hugo, Louis, and Harriet.
