Critics Review
“A must-read book for any parent, grandparent, or teacher who wants their infants and toddlers to grow into independent children who love to learn. As an early childhood educator, I found the activities described as developmentally appropriate, easy to do, and most importantly, fun!” –Joan Stapleton, MS.Ed. early childhood educator, teacher trainer
“Millennial parents find themselves working long hours and want the best preschool for their very young children. As a multitude of options pop up, these parents need intelligent, factual, experienced advice–not only for choosing a school but in replicating that space at home. Tara Greaney is an accomplished Montessori educator who has created not only a delightful and easy-to-follow guide for parents but also a book rich with historical information and highly practical, easy-to-organize spaces and activities for an authentic Montessori home. Parents will be beyond grateful for this book!” –Matthew Stuart, head of the Caedmon School, the first Montessori School in NYC
“Tara draws on her decades of experience to distill Montessori principles with ease for young families, sharing priceless tips along the way! Using a Montessori lens, she takes the reader through stages of early childhood development and constructs an easy-to-follow guide on the many ways to support independence and growth, meaningfully engage and play, and nurture healthy attachments. This is a must-have book that will resonate with anyone wishing to bring the Montessori approach into their home.” –Lesley Michael, DO, child and adolescent psychiatrist
“Whether you’re about to be new parents or already parents of a young child, you will find this book an invaluable resource in either preparing for your newborn or establishing your youngster’s very important early foundation. In using the Montessori methods as the underpinning, Montessori at Home takes those concepts and broadens them to show how they apply to your child’s well-being and development, regardless of school choice. As a grandmother of five, I believe this book should be required reading for parents who want the insight that is needed to raise well-adjusted, happy, and productive individuals–whether or not you plan on sending your child to a Montessori school.” –Dolores Costigan, R.N.
