Steve Barlow
Steve Barlow (Author)
Steve Barlow is one half of the writing duo “2Steves.” Together with Steve Skidmore, he has authored over 250 books since 1988. Barlow was born in Crewe and received his education at Crewe Grammar School, Warwick University, and Nottingham University. His diverse career includes experience in teaching, acting, stage management, and puppetry. He also spent four years teaching at a village school in Botswana before returning to the UK. The “Two Steves” have toured extensively both domestically and internationally, participating in book festivals such as Edinburgh and Hay.
Steve Skidmore (Author)
Steve Skidmore is one half of “The 2 Steves,” a popular British comedy writing and performing duo for young people. He was born in Birstall, near Leicester. Skidmore studied English at Nottingham University, where he also dedicated significant time to sports and various jobs, including counting pastry pie lids. He trained as a teacher of Drama, English, and Film before becoming a full-time author with Steve Barlow. He resides in Leicester and is a devoted rugby fan.
Alessandro Valdrighi (Illustrator)
Alessandro Valdrighi was born in February 1980 in Castiglione della Pescaia, a coastal town in Italy. He pursued his studies in Florence, earning a Bachelor’s degree in set design from the “Accademia delle Belle Arti.” As a child, Valdrighi began drawing by imitating comic books and illustrations, a practice he believes contributed to his ability to work in multiple styles and embrace new challenges. He has worked as a cartoonist, illustrator, and concept artist, utilizing both traditional and digital media. Valdrighi also received an award for his comic, “Lagrimas en la lluvia,” which was recognized as the best comic book publication in Spain in 2011. He currently lives and works in Siena with his wife, child, and cat.
Edu Rubio (Illustrator)
Edu Rubio is a self-taught artist from Mexico City. He has exhibited his work in over 60 group shows and 18 solo exhibitions across galleries, museums, and art fairs in America, Europe, and Asia. Rubio has experience as a painter, traditional draftsman, and teacher. His exploration of digital art began in Mexico, and in 2008, he moved to Madrid. There, through experimentation with digital media, he transitioned into editorial and advertising illustration. His illustrations have been published by major European publishers and featured by various brands. Rubio currently divides his time between Madrid and a small mountain village in the province of Avila, where he enjoys drawing, good food, and fresh air.
