Stanley Newman is the crossword editor for Newsday, a Long Island, New York, newspaper. His work is syndicated worldwide to over 200 daily, Sunday, and internet newspapers. As a puzzle creator, Newman’s work has appeared regularly in Prevention, People, Sport, and Businessweek magazines. He is the author or editor of more than 200 books.
Newman has organized and conducted numerous puzzle and trivia events across the United States. These include six seminars at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and, in 2007, the first crossword tournament ever held at Yale University. He lives in New York with his wife and three grown children.
