Sheridan Harbridge
SHERIDAN HARBRIDGE is an award-winning writer and director who graduated from NIDA in 2006. She is known for her creative excellence and unique vision in the Australian theatre scene. Sheridan wrote and starred in Songs for the Fallen, which won Best Musical at the 2015 New York Music Theatre Festival and earned her a Green Room Award for Best Artist. The production had successful seasons in Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, and Melbourne. In 2022, Sheridan directed 44 Sex Acts in One Week, which completed a run at the Edinburgh Festival, and the Australian musical Dubbo Championship Wrestling for the Hayes Theatre, earning a Best Director nomination at the Sydney Theatre Awards. Sheridan has collaborated with UK cult band The Tiger Lillies, creating a performance on Cockatoo Island for the Biennale of Sydney, and was a member of the Griffin Theatre Studio, where she developed and directed Nosferatutu, which toured Griffin Theatre, Glenn Street, and the Adelaide Festival. She directed The Reg Livermore Retrospective for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Blueberry Play for Griffin Theatre’s BATCH festival, and was commissioned to write the acclaimed musical adaptation of My Brilliant Career for Melbourne Theatre Company. Her cabaret A Model Murder, premiered the 2024 Sydney Festival.
DEAN BRYANT is an award-winning writer and director of musicals, plays, opera, cabaret and screen. He met composing partner Mathew Frank while studying at WAAPA where they wrote Prodigal, which won the Green Room award and was produced off-Broadway. Other musicals include Once We Lived Here (Green Room award), Virgins: A Musical Threesome, The Silver Donkey, and songs for Mr & Mrs Murder. Their musical My Brilliant Career (with co-writer Sheridan Harbridge) premiered at Melbourne Theatre Company to rapturous critical and audience acclaim. Dean created verbatim theatre plays Gaybies (published through Playlab) and Well…that Happened. Cabaret writing includes Christie Whelan-Browne vehicles Show People and Britney Spears: The Cabaret. He wrote and directed the short film Rhyme Time. As director he has received Helpmann, Sydney Theatre and Green Room Awards and has directed for major companies in Australia and internationally, including Sydney Theatre Company, Opera Australia, Michael Cassel Group, Hayes Theatre, Pinchgut Opera, State Theatre Company South Australia and was Associate Director of Melbourne Theatre Company (2016-2019).
