About the Authors

Scott Tannenbaum has over 25 years of experience advising and researching teams across a diverse range of settings and challenges. As President of the Group for Organizational Effectiveness, he has consulted with hundreds of organizations globally, including over 75 Fortune and Global 1000 companies. His work has extended to supporting teams in high-stakes environments such as oil rigs, firefighting, surgery, deep-sea diving, combat, cancer treatment, rugby, and space exploration. Scott is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists, the latter of which honored him with their Distinguished Professional Contributions Award.

Eduardo Salas is the Allyn R. & Gladys M. Cline Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University. A highly prolific author and active consultant, he has published over 500 articles and chapters, with his work cited more than 90,000 times. Eduardo has consulted with a variety of organizations in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, industry, healthcare, and government. He has also developed team training programs and tools for teams in sectors including oil and gas, aviation, military, aerospace, law enforcement, and medicine. He is a Past President of the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology and the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society, and holds fellowships in numerous scientific societies. Eduardo was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association.
