About The Author

Roger Hargreaves

Agatha Christie was born in Torquay in 1890 and became, quite simply, the best-selling novelist in history. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, written towards the end of the First World War, introduced us to Hercule Poirot, who was to become the most popular detective in crime fiction since Sherlock Holmes. She is known throughout the world as the Queen of Crime. Her books have sold over a billion copies in the English language and another billion in over 100 foreign countries. She is the author of 80 crime novels and short story collections, 19 plays, and six novels under the name of Mary Westmacott.

Charles Roger Hargreaves was an English author and illustrator of children’s books, best remembered for the Mr. Men and Little Miss series, intended for very young readers.

Arthur Lowe was an English actor. His career spanned over thirty years and he starred in numerous theatre and television productions. It wasn’t until his performance as Leonard Swindley in Coronation Street that he became a household name. He is best known for playing Captain George Mainwaring in the popular British sitcom Dad’s Army from 1968 until 1977. He was nominated for 7 BAFTAs throughout his distinguished career and became one of the most recognisable faces on TV.

Adam Hargreaves is a children’s author and illustrator living in East Sussex, England. The son of Roger Hargreaves, he continues his father’s popular Mr. Men series of children’s books which has sold over 200 million copies worldwide.
