Robert Dixon
Rob Dixon grew up in Gloucestershire and was educated at Cheltenham College before joining the Army at 17. After two years at Sandhurst, he was commissioned into The Gloucestershire Regiment. His service included a two-year tour in Berlin during the Cold War and further postings in Northern Ireland and Germany. He concluded his Army career by commanding 1 Glosters during their final six months in Berlin, followed by a two-year tour in Ireland.
Following his military service, Dixon pursued a varied career in industry, eventually establishing his own headhunting business. He has also been a dedicated trustee of the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum for many years, serving as chairman for five of those years. For several years, including the Covid period, he managed ancestry inquiries related to the Korean War, an experience that significantly informed his writing.
