About The Author
Richard Gallear
Richard was found as a baby by a canal and given the name Richard by hospital staff. Gallear was the surname of his adoptive abuser. He survived a childhood of trials and terrors to tell his story in this book.
Now in his sixties, he lives in the West Midlands, not far from the canal towpath where he was found. Despite his difficult start and cruel upbringing, Richard’s early years in a happy children’s home, combined with his determination to survive, helped him to become a balanced and compassionate adult with loyal friends. His quest for the truth about his origins has been a long journey, but now that he knows, he feels at peace. The truth has set him free.
