PopOut Maps
PopOut was founded in 1993 by Derek Dacey. After observing tourists struggling with oversized maps, Dacey sought to create a more user-friendly alternative, drawing inspiration from the miniature charts used by commercial pilots. He assembled a team of designers, and the first PopOut Map, covering Bath, was released. Following its success, a research trip to the USA led to a redesigned layout incorporating high-quality printing, laminated covers, and photo images. This trip also resulted in the addition of US destinations like Boston, NYC, Philadelphia, and Washington DC to the PopOut range. Today, PopOut produces over 100 titles for major destinations.
