P.K. Perumal

Dr. P.K. Perumal is a management expert and a prolific writer. In addition to a masters degree in economics from the University of Madras, he holds an M.B.A(Marketing), a Ph.D in economics as well as a D. Litt obtained from the International University, California, USA. He was associated with the Small Industries Development Organisation (SIDO) of the Government of India in multiple capacities between 1963 and 1991, with an exemplary track record in tackling issues pertaining to small industry development. He was inducted into the Indian Economic Service in 1984. After making vital contributions in the small scale sector, he joined the Planning Commission, New Delhi, as deputy advisor (Multi-Level Planning) and provided excellent post-implementation support till his retirement in 1993. Besides being a gifted speaker in seminars and forums, he is the recipient of awards like the MSPI Outstanding Personalities Award in 1998, The Excellence Award: Gold Medal in 2001 and the United Writers Association’s Life Time Achievement Award in 2002 . He is the author of Indian Market for Menswear.
