About The Author
Peter Dornan
Peter Dornan has been a physiotherapist for fifty-seven years in sports medicine and manipulative therapy. He has worked with many international sporting teams, including the Australian national rugby union team, the Australian national rugby league team, the Queensland rugby union team, and the Australian cricket team. He was awarded the Commemorative 2000 Australian Sports Medal. He is also a passionate men’s health activist and was influential in forming the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
Peter has written two books on sporting injuries, one on prostate cancer (Conquering Incontinence), two on pelvic pain, and four military books (The Silent Men, Nicky Barr - An Australian Air Ace, The Last Man Standing, and Diving Stations). In 2002, Peter was appointed a member of the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) and was the 2020 Queensland Senior Australian of the Year.
Peter has been a classical sculptor for more than forty years with works in many national institutions and private collections.
Peter is married to Dr Dimity Dornan (AO), a speech pathologist, who is the founder and director of Hear and Say, and the founder and chair of Bionics Queensland and Bionics Gamechangers Australia. They have two adult children, Melissa and Roderick.
