Summary
Paul Wood drifted into drugs and petty crime as a teenager. At 18, during a drug-fuelled confrontation, he killed a man who had supplied him with methamphetamine. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
Wood eventually made the decision to rebuild himself. He began studying, confronting his behaviour, and taking responsibility for his actions. He completed a bachelor’s degree inside, then a master’s degree, and ultimately earned a PhD while still incarcerated.
