Paul Levitz’s career in comics spans over four decades, encompassing roles as a fan, editor, writer, and executive at DC Comics.
Early Career & DC Comics:
- A lifelong comic fan, he founded and edited THE COMIC READER, a fanzine that garnered two Best Fanzine Comic Art Fan Awards. He also contributed to numerous New York Comic Art Convention program books.
- At DC Comics, Levitz held various influential positions, including editor of BATMAN. He rose through the ranks, becoming the company’s youngest editor ever.
- He served two decades as Publisher and concluded his tenure as President & Publisher.
Writing Acclaim:
- Levitz is widely recognized for his extensive work on the LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, including the acclaimed “The Great Darkness Saga,” which was voted by readers of The Comic Buyers’ Guide as one of the 20 best comic stories of the last century.
