A brilliant book, a triple trip: one on the road, one in History and one into the author’s mind. Cycling is about all that – Paul Fournel
A truly excellent book … Paul Jones’s End To End is a wonderful, sometimes frenetic and deeply honest book by a man bursting with passion for cycling, its cultures and lore, and people who do extraordinary things. * BikeRadar *
Jones’s funny and affectionate book is a celebration of ‘the fellowship of the road’ * Spectator *
A sort of partial British social and political history. It is also memoir and confessional. It is an utterly remarkable book * Conquista *
Paul Jones’ book surprised me with its page-turning, engaging take on an epic cycling challenge that’s captured the imaginations of generations. Part personal pilgrimage, part stride across history, it brings to life decades of human endeavour on the bicycle with a remarkable humour and humanity * Laura Laker, author of Potholes and Pavements *

About The Author

Paul Jones

Paul Jones is an occasional racing cyclist who struggles to balance the demands of writing about cycling with doing some actual cycling. He appeared in the same race as Sir Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and David Millar in the 2014 National Time Trial Championships, once scraped a 49-minute ‘25’ and has won a couple of hill climbs and time trials in the South West of England.

His books include A Corinthian Endeavour, which explores the niche and deranged world of the hill climb and is seen as the definitive (and only) work on the subject; and I Like Alf: 14 Lessons from the Life of Alf Engers, a biography of mythical folk hero Alf Engers. Beyond that, he has an obsession with time, social change and people and tries to explore this in his writing.
