What They're Saying

Critics Review

“The humor is bright and sometimes delightfully off-kilter, but beneath it runs a serious current: the question of what a person does with humiliation, violation, and grief when ordinary language has failed her.”Literary Titan
“This is a book for anyone who has ever needed to fall apart somewhere far from home, and for anyone who believes, as I now do, that a pile of broken china can be its own kind of prayer.”Readers’ Favorite
“A woman embraces the unexpected in The Utterly Unacceptable Atrocity of Isabelle Marsden, a warm novel about neighborliness and improvisational art.”Foreword Clarion Reviews
”… a well-paced, offbeat tale that drives home the significance of creativity and community.”BlueInk Review
“Read this book for inspiration, as a respite, or just because it has a capybara. A story with colorful, eccentric, delightful characters who do whimsical, unconventional, and amusing things.”—Ellen Barker, author of East of Troost, Still Needs Work, and The Breaks
“… Pokerwinski’s tale of irresistible eccentricities celebrates the mystical power of art in bringing together a community, especially when unexpected forces fan hidden sparks into an uncontainable celebration of individual expression.”—Erika Nelson, Cultural Resources Director, S.P. Dinsmoor’s Garden of Eden
