What They're Saying
Critics Review
“Trenchant and timely study … presents an informed and persuasive case for the brutal absurdity of American gun culture….A meticulously researched, illuminating exploration of American gun violence.”
—Kirkus Reviews
“Mike McIntire has written a killer expose revealing the untold greed, grift and political games played by America’s seemingly unstoppable gun industry. McIntire is both a superb reporter and storyteller, and Ricochet is a must read for anyone wondering why a country in which presidents and school children have been felled by assassins’ bullets, cannot find a reasonable way to protect both gun rights and its citizens.”
—Jane Mayer, bestselling author of DARK MONEY
“McIntire, one of our best reporters, delivers a powerful look at the collective psychosis that makes our country gun crazy. Ricochet asks why we live like this — and delivers answers. An essential book for understanding why gun violence is as American as apple pie.”
—Tim Weiner, bestselling author of LEGACY OF ASHES
“Precise, scrupulously reported, and written with moral seriousness, Ricochet is essential reading for anyone trying to understand how a nation arrived at a place where guns are the leading cause of death of children and teenagers — and what, if anything, might change that.”
—Greg Grandin, author of THE END OF THE MYTH
