About The Author
Mike Alcazaren
Mike Alcazaren is an animator, filmmaker, screenwriter, and comic book series creator. He began his career as an animator, co-founding the Philippines’ first stop-motion animation company with his brothers in 1989. The company produced experimental films, advertisements, and title sequences for television shows, many of which garnered national and international accolades, including a New York Festival Award.
Alcazaren’s first screenplay, which chronicled the incarceration and trial of opposition leader Benigno Aquino Jr. during the Ferdinand Marcos regime, earned him the Philippines’ prestigious Carlos Palanca Memorial Literary Award. He recently concluded his popular, self-published Filipino zombie comic book series, “Patay Kung Patay” [Death be Damned].
