Jim Shooter

Jim Shooter began his comic career at age 14, writing and penciling the “Legion of Super-Heroes” for Adventure Comics. He later moved to Marvel, writing Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Marvel Team-Up, and Marvel Two-in-One. As Editor-in-Chief, he streamlined Marvel’s publishing, introduced new titles, mentored talent, launched the New Universe, and wrote the Secret Wars series. After leaving Marvel, Shooter worked for Valiant, Defiant, and Broadway Comics, before venturing into entertainment with Phobos Entertainment and TGS Inc. He returned to DC to write Legion of Super-Heroes and later helped revamp Gold Key heroes for Dark Horse.

Don Perlin

Don Perlin was a creative force, contributing to long-running series like Ghost Rider and Defenders. His extensive work in the field included penciling, inking, character creation, editing, and writing. A student of Burne Hogarth, Perlin started in 1951 drawing horror comics and penciling Will Eisner’s The Spirit. After military service, he returned to comics with Harvey and Charlton. His long association with Marvel began in 1973, where he finished John Buscema’s art on Thor and inked various titles. He took over Werewolf by Night from Mike Ploog and became closely identified with Marvel’s supernatural biker, Johnny Blaze, in Ghost Rider. In the 1980s, he drew Defenders and Marvel’s adaptation of Transformers. His early 1990s work on Valiant’s Solar, Man of the Atom and Bloodshot was highly popular, after which Perlin entered semi-retirement.
