Maria Nicolau
Maria Nicolau is a chef and food writer. For more than twenty years, she has worked in restaurants across Catalonia, Spain, and France. She lives in Vilanova de Sau, Osona, where she runs the restaurant El Ferrer de Tall, devoted to Catalan cuisine.
Mary Ann Newman translates fiction, poetry, and essays from Catalan. She founded the Farragut Fund for Catalan Culture in the United States, and received the Creu de Sant Jordi and other awards for her translations and advocacy for Catalan culture. She lives in Manhattan.
