It’s jam packed full of simple science experiments that children can try themselves (still under adult supervision of course) using mostly things that can be found around the home, especially the kitchen. From explaining that even baking is science - ingredients turning from one thing to another … The book uses real photographs of children taking part in the experiments, which is really motivating for kids who are reading the book. …The end of each experiment has a ‘science made simple’ section that explains the science behind this experiment. It’s just an awesome book!

This book is jammed full of really fun experiments… After each experiment there is a ‘Science Made Simple’ explanation of the science behind each experiment meaning there is so much to learn at the same time! This is such a great book that I really recommend for children aged 5-11 years. It is one of the best books I’ve seen on this topic. The perfect book for budding young scientists and cooks!

Laura Minter and Tia Williams are two creative mums based in Sussex, UK. They started Little Button Diaries, their crafting and baking blog, in 2013.
