Summary
Cyclodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase) is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of starch into cyclodextrins. This group of enzymes has gained significant attention due to the unique properties of cyclodextrins, such as their ability to form inclusion complexes with various molecules. This has led to their widespread application in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and chemical industries.
This book provides a comprehensive overview of CGTases, covering their:

Prof. (Dr.) Kiransinh Rajput
Prof. (Dr.) Kiransinh Rajput’s research interests lie in the areas of cyclodextrin glucanotransferase, plant growth promoting bacteria, biosurfactants, and bioremediation. He has authored over 44 research and review articles published in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to 3 book chapters in edited books from international publishers.
Prof. Rajput has filed an Indian patent for a ‘process for the production of a yellow antioxidant pigment from the fungus Collectotrichum’ (3267/Del/2014). Currently, he serves as the Principal Investigator for a project titled “Evaluation of cow-based preparations for plant growth promoting bacteria and scale up for field applications in natural farming,” sponsored by GSBTM, Government of Gujarat, India. He also previously served as a Co-Principal Investigator on a project focused on “Evaluation of biofortified formulation of PGPR on the enhancement of induced systemic resistance (ISR) causing damping off disease in agricultural crops.”
He has successfully supervised the doctoral research of 2 Ph.D. students and 2 M.Phil. students in the field of microbiology.
