About The Author
Katie Lumsden
Katie Lumsden discovered her love for reading at thirteen, captivated by Jane Eyre. Her teenage years were dedicated to devouring 19th-century literature, immersing herself in the works of Dickens, Brontë, Gaskell, Austen, and Hardy.
She holds a degree in English Literature and History from the University of Durham and an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University. Her short stories have received recognition, being shortlisted for the London Short Story Prize and the Bridport Prize, and have been featured in various literary magazines.
Katie is also a successful YouTuber, with her channel “Books and Things” boasting over 28,000 subscribers. She currently resides in London, where she works as an editor.
Her debut novel, The Secrets of Hartwood Hall, was shortlisted for the HWA Debut Crown Award. Her second novel, The Trouble with Mrs Montgomery Hurst, is a heartfelt tribute to Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell.
