What They're Saying
Critics Review
Praise for John MacArthur:
“Dr. MacArthur’s preaching is incredibly clear. He has the ability to relate the immediacy of the text to doctrinal concerns or cultural concerns without getting off on a tangent.” – John Piper, Founder and teacher of Desiring God, Chancellor of Bethlehem College and Seminary
“John MacArthur has proven himself to be a sure guide through Scripture and a faithful expositor of God’s Word.” – R. Albert Mohler, JR., President, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
“With the possible exception of Dr. Tim LaHaye, no other Bible commentator has informed my own writing as much as that of John MacArthur. I find myself turning to him again and again.” – Jerry B. Jenkins, author of The Left Behind series
“For decades John MacArthur has exemplified expository preaching, putting on full display the Word of God for the people of God.” – Matthew Barrett, Tutor of Systematic Theology and Church History, Oak Hill Theological College
The Church and Church Membership is a necessary appeal to professing believers in Jesus Christ to recapture the church’s true raison d’etre–its reason and purpose for existing. Leveraging historical doctrinal distinctives that comprise the church’s spiritual and ecclesiastical DNA, this book is a timely and challenging reminder to believers and unbelievers alike that the mission of the church remains firm and unwavering regardless of the direction the uncertain winds of culture may blow. –Darrell B. Harrison, Shepherding and Teaching Pastor, Redeemer Bible Church, Gilbert, AZ“This book has come at a key moment in church history. Society today has infiltrated many churches in ways that lead to confusion among leaders and discontentment among members. John MacArthur provides much needed clarity and insight into how an ‘ordinary church’ is truly extraordinary. This book will not only help remind leaders to remain on task, but it will help every member to grow in his or her love for the body of Christ, ‘the fullness of Him who fills all in all’ (Eph.1:23). John MacArthur has produced a work that should not only increase your love for Christ, but as you consider these chapters, they will invigorate your desire to serve the body with increased joy.” –Brian Biedebach, Dean of Students and Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministry, The Master’s SeminaryAbout The Author
