John Cusack

With an impressive body of work spanning three decades, John Cusack has evolved into one of Hollywood’s most accomplished and respected actors of his generation. He has garnered critical acclaim and prestigious accolades for his dramatic and comedic roles.

Most recently, Cusack appeared in the WWII spy film Fog of War, playing Robert, a conflicted intelligence officer navigating moral ambiguity. He also featured in Detective Chinatown 1900, a historical Chinese blockbuster, and the Chinese espionage thriller Decoded, focusing on wartime code-breaking.

In 2020, Cusack starred in Prime Video’s sci-fi series Utopia as Dr. Kevin Christie, a charismatic biotech mind aiming to change the world through science. The series is based on Dennis Kelly’s British show and features Gillian Flynn as executive producer and showrunner.

Cusack first gained attention in 1980s film classics such as The Sure Thing, Say Anything, and Sixteen Candles. He successfully shed his teen-heartthrob image by demonstrating his versatility in dramas, thrillers, and comedies, including The Grifters, Eight Men Out, Being John Malkovich, High Fidelity, and Grosse Pointe Blank.

In recent years, Cusack starred in Bill Pohland’s Love and Mercy, portraying Beach Boys songwriter Brian Wilson in his later years, alongside Paul Dano and Elizabeth Banks. He also appeared in David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars with Julianne Moore and Robert Pattinson, a satirical drama examining the entertainment industry’s relationship with Western civilization.

Cusack’s supporting roles include Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq, Lee Daniels’ drama The Paperboy opposite Nicole Kidman and Matthew McConaughey, and James McTeigue’s thriller The Raven, where he portrayed Edgar Allan Poe. In 2009, he starred in Roland Emmerich’s apocalyptic thriller 2012, an international blockbuster that grossed over $766 million worldwide.

In 2001, Cusack received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for his role in the film adaptation of Nick Hornby’s novel, High Fidelity. In addition to starring, Cusack co-produced and co-wrote the script.

In 1999, Cusack starred in the dark comedy Being John Malkovich, earning an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actor.

Ignacio Noé (Illustrator and Comic Artist)

Born in Argentina in 1965, Ignacio Noé resides in Escobar, Buenos Aires. His career began in 1986 with collaborations for Fierro magazine, creating short comics and cover art. He met Ricardo Barreiro, with whom he produced cover art for Italian publishers like Lancio Story and L’Eternauta. Concurrently, he worked for the Argentine magazine Noticias and the newspaper Clarín.

In 1992, he debuted in erotic comics with scripts by R. Barreiro, later continuing with his own stories. These works were published in the Spanish magazine Kiss Comic and later in book form across France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and the United States.

He then collaborated with French screenwriter Jean-David Morvan on Les Chroniques de Sillage Vol. I, published by Delcourt. In the 2000s, he began a long tenure with the Argentine children’s magazine GENIOS, illustrating for the “Grandes Clásicos” and “Grandes Aventuras” collections. During this period, he also created the comic Julián King, written by Carlos Trillo.

In 2006, the acclaimed series Helldorado was launched, published by Casterman and written by J. D. Morvan and M. Dragan. That same year, he started illustrating children’s books for the American publisher Advance Publishing.

In 2010, he collaborated with Damien Hirst’s publishing house Other Criteria on a monograph of painter Ashley Bickerton, adapting an interview by Hans Ulrich Obrist into comic form. In 2013, Ignacio published Douce, tiède et parfumée with Glénat, featuring his own script. He continued with Glénat on Jeanne d’Arc, written by Jérôme Le Gris, and Et on tuera tous les affreux, a comic adaptation by J. D. Morvan of Boris Vian’s novel.

In 2022, the first volume of the Salazar collection was published by Nuevo Nueve. That same year, he released his 2023 calendar Una mujer, cuatro elementos, todas las cosas (One Woman, Four Elements, All Things) with the Argentine publisher Dicese, with French, German, and American versions following. In 2023, he created cover art for American publishers Zenescope and Bad Bug.

He is currently working on the comic adaptation of the movie script Momo, written by John Cusack, to be published by Mad Cave and produced by the actor.

Ignacio Noé also paints landscapes of the Pampas plains, infused with a metaphysical undertone. In 2023, he held a virtual exhibition of these works at Entusiasta Gallery in Barcelona. Since 1991, he has directed his own art school, and from his teaching experience, he wrote Ilustración e Imagen Artística, published by Dicese in 2017.
