Description

Little orphan Heidi goes to live high in the Alps with her gruff grandfather and brings happiness to all who know her on the mountain. About the Author

Johanna Louise Spyri (1827-1901) was a Swiss-born author of novels, notably children's stories, and is best known for her book Heidi. Born in Hirzel, a rural area in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, as a child spent several summers near Chur in Graub nden, the setting she later would use in her novels.
