About The Author
Jay Ryan
Jay Ryan has been making screenprinted concert posters in Chicago since 1995. Known for his hand-drawn type, humorous animal subjects, and muted color selections, he has worked for thousands of rock bands, as well as clients like Patagonia Clothing, Converse Shoes, Burton Snowboards, and the BBC. His first book, 100 Poster, 134 Squirrels, was published in 2005 by Akashic Books. Meno is the author of three other novels, including “How the Hula Girl Sings” and “Hairstyles of the Damned,” a selection of the B&N Discover Program and an international bestseller. He is a professor of creative writing at Columbia College, Chicago, the cofounder of Sleepwalk magazine, and a columnist for Punk Planet magazine.
