About The Author
James F. Masterson
James F. Masterson was a prominent psychiatrist born in Pennsylvania and educated at the University of Notre Dame and Jefferson Medical College. He became an authority on the treatment of personality disorders. In 1977, he founded the Masterson Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. During his career, he wrote seven influential texts. He died in 2010.
