Critics Review

Intrigue and suspense aplenty. A refreshing and original new voice

Intrigue and suspense aplenty. A refreshing and original new voice

The illegitimate love-child of Lara Croft and Indiana Jones… Fast-paced and action-packed but with a keen eye for detail, it moves from Victorian London to the badlands of Central America with barely time to draw breath… If The Smoke Hunter doesn’t get made into a movie, I’ll eat my Indiana Jones fedora

Wonderful characters, thrilling action, a social conscience, mystery and a dash of romance: this is a page-turner with everything… Read it before it becomes a must-see movie!

Conspiracy, mystery and a courageous suffragette with an eye for adventure - a sparkling debut novel from Jacquelyn Benson

About The Author

Jacquelyn Benson

Award-nominated playwright Jacquelyn Benson always wanted to grow up to be Indiana Jones, but since real archaeology involves cataloguing pot shards and digging through muck rather than diving out of planes and battling Nazis, she is devoted to shamelessly making things up instead.

After studying anthropology in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Jacquelyn is now married and living in Dublin, New Hampshire. When not writing, you may find her turning flowers into wine, herding her unruly offspring, or hiding under a blanket devouring genre fiction. THE SMOKE HUNTER is her debut novel.
