About The Author
Ins Choi
Ins Choi is an actor, poet, and playwright. His first play, Kim’s Convenience, won Best New Play and the Patrons’ Pick Award at the 2011 Toronto Fringe Festival. Since then, it has been produced multiple times in Canada, the UK, and the US to sold-out runs and rave reviews. It was adapted into a TV series of the same name on CBC and Netflix for five seasons, where Choi was a writer, executive producer, and co-creator.
He has also written the plays Subway Stations of the Cross and Bad Parent, and collectively created 2000 Candles (Brookstone), Window on Toronto, Alligator Pie, and (re)Birth: e. e. cummings in Song (Soulpepper).
Born in South Korea, Choi grew up in Scarborough and now resides in Toronto with his wife and their two screenagers.
