About The Author

Howard B. Bluestein

Howard B. Bluestein is a Professor and George Lynn Cross Research Professor in the School of Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma. He also serves as a frequent visiting scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

Bluestein earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in meteorology, all from M.I.T.

He utilizes advanced, mobile Doppler radar systems to investigate severe convective storms and tornadoes. His photographs of clouds have been published and exhibited in art museums internationally.
