About The Author

Harry Whittaker

Lucinda Riley was born in Ireland in 1965. After an early career as an actress in film, theatre, and television, she wrote her first novel at the age of twenty-four. Her books have been translated into forty languages and continue to resonate with readers worldwide. The Seven Sisters series, in particular, has achieved global phenomenon status, establishing its own genre, with plans for a multi-season television adaptation.

Riley’s novels have received numerous award nominations, including the Italian Bancarella Prize, the Lovely Books Award in Germany, and the Romantic Novel of the Year Award. In 2020, she was awarded the Dutch Platinum Award for selling over 300,000 copies of a single novel in one year – a distinction previously achieved by J. K. Rowling for Harry Potter.

In collaboration with her son, Harry Whittaker, she also created and authored the Guardian Angels series of children’s books.

While she primarily raised her four children in Norfolk, England, Riley realized her lifelong dream in 2015 by purchasing a secluded farmhouse in West Cork, Ireland, which she considered her spiritual home. Her last five novels were written there.

Lucinda Riley was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and passed away on June 11, 2021, surrounded by her family.
