Guillaume 'Run' Renard
Guillaume “Run” Renard is an accomplished animator, director, and writer known for his modern approach to animation. His films often explore the lives of social outcasts and are imbued with contemporary themes such as terrorism, the quest for identity, ecological issues, and the temptation of radicalization for young people.
Renard’s early work includes the animated short Mutafukaz: Operation Blackhead (2003), which was selected for Sundance and marked the beginning of his “Mutafukaz” universe. His feature film debut, Mutafukaz (2017), co-directed with Nishimi Shojiro, premiered at the Annecy International Animation Festival and was later released on Netflix in the United States under the title MFKZ.
