About The Author

Geoff Moon

The late Geoff Moon OBE (1915-2009), Fellow of the Photographic Society of New Zealand and Associate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, worked as a veterinarian, but it is for his unique collection of bird photographs, often taken after weeks of careful hide preparation, that he is remembered. His many books include New Zealand: Land of birds, A Photographic Guide to Birds of New Zealand and Know Your New Zealand Birds (written by Lynnette Moon). Geoff’s contribution to the research and documentation of New Zealand’s birdlife is widely acknowledged.
