The Quiltmaker's Butterfly Forest

Fuse and stitch butterfly patterns inspired by The Quiltmaker’s Butterfly Forest author Felicia T. Brenoe’s travels to the Ecuadorean Amazon rain forest. Designs feature 12 butterfly species and six wreaths in eight projects that represent a range of styles. Quilts and More, Spring 2017 A sojourn in the Tiputini Biodiversity Research Station deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest left biologist Felicia Brenoe in awe of the beauty and complexity of the plants and animals around her. She was especially captivated by the variety of butterflies and chose to celebrate them in the masterpiece applique quilt shown on the front cover of her book. All the instructions and patterns to make it are included in the book and the pull-out pattern sheets. In addition, Felicia has developed seven other projects using variations o f the butterfly shapes. They include a cushion, placemats, wallhangings, and several other bed quilts. She also provides instructions for raw-edge applique by machine, the applique method she use for her projects. Homespun, January 2017

Felicia Brenoe is a quilt designer inspired by the traditions, moods, and natural beauty of her international travels. Her work has appeared in several magazines, and she lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with her husband, kids, and three spoiled cats.
