David Atherton

David Atherton is the winner of “The Great British Bake Off” 2019. David grew up in a family of five children in North Yorkshire where his love of cooking was inspired by his mother’s freshly baked bread and cakes every week. His passion for food led to a career in healthcare and, alongside his Bake Off achievements, David works as an international health advisor, spending time in UK Aid-funded hospitals overseas. His mother’s home cooking and inspiration from his travels, as well as his knowledge in nutrition and healthcare, inspire his recipes today.
