Critics Review

Without doubt, Christian Cameron is one of the finest writers of historical fiction in the world. He stands head and shoulders above the vast majority of his contemporaries, and I stand in awe of him and his writing

The more Cameron’s 700-page story progresses, the more impressive it becomes. Detail is piled upon detail to reconstruct the Alexandrian world … brilliantly evoked. Cameron has risen to the challenge of creating a portrait of Alexander that matches - and often eclipses - those of earlier novelists - SUNDAY TIMES

Cameron’s gift is for spinning out a rich setting through his obvious devotion to Classics … plus, Cameron’s ability to conjure up what Homer called “the battle haze” might make the ancient bard proud - BOSTON GLOBE & MAIL

[A] great page-turner - ANCIENT HISTORY on Marathon

A sweeping, deeply moving epic that takes the reader into the heart of a different time and culture - HISTORICAL NOVELS REVIEW on Marathon
