Critics Review

All menopausal and peri-menopausal beings, and those who live and work with us, should read this book. Sharing a cyclical, non-linear and deeply embodied approach to this major life transition, Embodied Menopause is a breath of fresh air in the stifling chambers of mainstream approaches to menopause. Charlotte and Leo’s book is a welcome call for self-compassion and body-literate wisdom as we navigate the magnificent opportunity for evolution that is Menopause. – Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, author and yoga therapist
Part science, part sanctuary. While the world tells you to push through or stay forever young, this warm, inclusive book offers a radical third path, one grounded in a profound understanding of the body, that meets you exactly where you are and walks you into transformation. – Kate Codrington, author and menopause mentor
Embodied Menopause offers a refreshing shift in how we understand this phase of life, guiding readers to reconnect with the body as an intelligent, adaptive system. Integrating physiology, nervous system regulation and embodied awareness, it empowers a compassionate, informed approach, supporting resilience, movement and wellbeing through meaningful and sustainable change. – Heidi Hadley, Clinical Somatics educator
If you have a gut feeling that menopause is more than a disease process, this book is for you. Charlotte and Leo offer much-needed support for women navigating menopause. Use this book as a guide, a map for your journey of maturation and healing through an embodied menopause. – Jane Hardwicke Collings, author, teacher and menopause educator
This book is an accessible, wise and compassionate guide through the menopause transition. Acknowledging the whole complexity - including the uniqueness of our experiences and the historical and cultural contexts in which we live- Charlotte and Leo skilfully invite us to become active, grounded, and empowered travellers on a journey that is both deeply individual and profoundly collective. – Kristine Langhoff, Professor of Social Work, University of Sussex
A breath of fresh air, Embodied Menopause honours menopause as a profound, individual rite of passage. Charlotte and Leo gently guide women into deeper relationship with their bodies, revealing the wisdom and treasures within. Graceful, insightful and deeply needed, this book deserves to be savoured, absorbed and celebrated. – Meleni Aldridge, Integrative & Regenerative Medicine Practitioner
A compassionate and deeply insightful guide by two knowledgeable and gifted practitioners. Blending science, somatics, and accessible practices, it offers both an invitational roadmap through the menopause and a springboard for self-exploration. I only wish I’d had a resource like this during my own menopause transition. – Liz Oppedijk, Accessible Yoga Teacher and yoga therapist, lecturer
