About The Author
Carl Hester
Carl Hester was brought up on Sark in the Channel Islands. He is one of Great Britain’s most successful dressage riders, and his exceptional career was crowned by Gold Medal triumph at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Carl was appointed MBE in 2013, and lives in Newent, Gloucestershire.
Co-author Bernadette Hewitt is an award-winning equestrian journalist who has covered four Olympics and numerous championships. She is the author of four equestrian books, including one written with Carl. Bernadette was formerly a broadcast journalist and researcher specialising in trans-national crime and border security until a law degree intervened. She achieved a First, thanks to being able to string three words together, but couldn’t shake off the writing bug. Bernadette lives in Hampshire with her husband Richard, a retired Army officer, and their Labrador dog Lenny.
