Bram Stoker
Abraham ‘Bram’ Stoker (1847 - 1912)
Educated at Trinity College, Dublin, Bram Stoker joined the Irish Civil Service. His passion for theatre led him to become the unpaid drama critic for the Dublin Mail. He later served as manager and secretary for the actor Sir Henry Irving, all while penning his novels, the most famous of which is Dracula.
Robert Eggers (foreword)
Robert Eggers is an American filmmaker and production designer, celebrated for his historical horror films. He wrote and directed The Witch (2015) and The Lighthouse (2019), followed by The Northman (2022) and the forthcoming Nosferatu (2024). His work is distinguished by its folkloric themes and commitment to historical accuracy.
Karen Winstead (introduction)
Karen Winstead is a Professor of English at Ohio State University. She has authored and translated several books, including Fifteenth-Century Lives: Writing Sainthood in England (2020). Her teaching specializations include “Monsters Without and Within” and “Vampires” in Film and Literature, as well as Popular Culture.
