Anna Coddington
Anna Coddington (Ngāti Tuwharetoa, Te Arawa, Ngāti Whakaue) is an award-winning New Zealand songwriter, singer, and producer. She has released four critically acclaimed studio albums. In 2022, she won the Waiata Māori Music Award for Best Māori Album in Te Reo for her EP Mana-Wā-Hine, which features a collection of songs performed in te reo Māori.
Her songwriting talent has earned her a spot on the prestigious Silver Scroll songwriting award Top 20 list four times. Anna also holds an MA in Linguistics, is currently pursuing a law degree, and works as a professional voiceover artist, leading her to proudly identify as a “word nerd.” Anna is a mother to two children with her partner, Dick Johnson, who is also a musician. Her writing for children is driven by a mission to spread awareness of kaupapa Māori.
Story Hemi-Morehouse
Story Hemi-Morehouse (Ngāti Koata, Ngāti Toa Rangatira) was born in Auckland and later moved to Australia. From a young age, she was captivated by comics and drawing, eventually transforming her passion for illustration into a profession.
Story’s debut book, Mokopuna Matatini/The Greatest Festival on Earth, written by Pania Tahau-Hodges, was a finalist in four categories at the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults in 2022. She has since illustrated several other books. Story resides and works on the Gold Coast, Australia, but the flexibility of her freelance career allows her to spend significant time in Aotearoa.
